That narrows down where and what you can do to support your family! Sounds like they need to pay the members so they can just go to classes etc. I am astounded by the things that are posted. Their God is much different than mine! I pray that they find God’s Grace eventually.
Actually members are NOT allowed to relocate because of a job transfer. Back in the 70s moving to a different city because of a job transfer was acceptable because it was a way for a new congregation to start however, since the late 70s/early 80s a job transfer is not an approved reason to move unless a huge exception is made because of extenuating circumstances.
But wait…I thought God’s laws don’t change. :-/
Oh but Kevin, those are judgments and judgments are subject to change with regularity. You must understand that the church teaches and enforces judgments but judgments are not rules OR doctrine, just judgments. Judgments are not conscience matters; conscience matters are conscience matters; you know, the matters the church decides are conscience matters; and judgments are judgments the church decides are judgments. These are excellent points. This type of thing is covered pretty well by Jesus’s teaching to the Pharisees: Mark 7:13 – Thus you nullify the word of God by your tradition that you have handed down. And you do many things like that. I agree Curious Chris; the misuse of the term ‘walking disorderly’ to withdraw from people is a good example of twisting the scriptures in order to shut the mouth of anyone who dares to disagree. Spiritual abuse is what it is; pure and simple.
